Pesto Etna, 180 g

In honour of Europe’s largest active volcano, our Etna pesto is a killer tasty mix of black olives, chilli, capers, oregano and evo oil.

You know that

Included by UNESCO in the World Heritage List in 2013, Etna covers an area of 1,190 km2  with a basal circumference of 140 km and is one of the world’s most active volcanoes, in an almost constant state of activity.

It lies on the east coast of Sicily, between the cities of Catania and Messina. It is one of the tallest active volcanoes in Europe, and the tallest peak in Italy south of the Alps with a current height about of 3,300 m.


All ingredients in this pesto are farm-to-table from Mt Etna area.
The fertile volcanic soils gives nourishment to the local agriculture. Vineyards and citrus fruits  are  the most famous Etna crops, spread across the lower slopes of the mountain and the broad Plain of Catania to the south.
Lemons, blood oranges, pears, apples, prickly pears, pistachios, strawberries, blueberries, black cherries, blackberries, any kind of berries! The volcanic soil is idea for more exotic fruit as well: kiwi, avocados, mangoes, they all grow very well on the mountain.

It is a perfect complement to season our pasta, but you can also use it to accompany croutons, vegetables, meat

Store in a cool, dry place at a temperature of around 10°. Once opened, cover with oil, keep in the fridge and consume within 4/5 days.
