Although panettone originated in northern Italy, Sicily is home to some of the best. We love to find the perfect combinations of local ingredients to add to the basic recipe of the panettone, without covering its original taste.

Our handcrafted panettone cakes are the result of our passion for key fresh ingredients, zero kilometre sourced. In fact, they are made with our wheat flour obtained from grains cultivated in in the south west of Sicily which does not undergo any chemical treatment. We use Sicilian fruit that is candied strictly by hand, egg yolks from fresh eggs, butter, natural flavourings and honey. When we cannot use our own products, we turn to controlled suppliers.

A natural leavening process gives a fragrant and much softer dough.

Our panettoni are produced in limited numbers and usually upon reservation.

This means you always have a fresh and scented panettone on your table. Don’t focus on the calories, once a year a delicious treat is allowed. Better think about the wise decision to choose a genuine, artisanal and non-industrial product.

We try to be as environmentally friendly as possible, therefore the panettone will be delivered to you in an elegant recycled cardboard package. Unfortunately, at the moment we cannot avoid the plastic bag that protects the panettone, but we are working on it and hope to find a solution soon.

Our panettoni are a joy to the palate and the perfect grand finale to any Christmas meal and event. Whether at home, as a gift for family and friends or as a corporate gift, it will always be an exquisite choice.

We are very proud to collaborate with this family cheese factory located in Marsala, western Sicily. They produce the sheep blue cheese in your Formaggi Gourmet box. With great passion and dedication, Federica and her family have for three generations been carrying on a project to enhance milk by transforming it into products of excellence. Fresh, genuine sheep’s milk from local sheep farms is processed within hours of milking to maintain its natural nutritional properties.
The family’s history became intertwined with the art of cheese-making in 1980, when the Genna family became affineurs and maturers of Sicilian pecorino. Over time, the story evolves and the Genna family builds the first real cheese factory in the city of Marsala, becoming producers of fresh and mature pecorino cheese.
In 2018, the new dairy factory was born: modern, innovative, young, aiming to research and experiment with dairy products with refined, rare and often explosive flavours. They produce flavoured, blue-veined, inebriated and lactose-free cheeses, but also continue to produce the pecorino cheeses that have made the history of this company.In May 2020, it was included in the register of Italian Excellence (Anti-Counterfeiting ID no. 13006).

Chocolate Roque is a blue cheese born from the meeting of fresh Marsala milk with rum and fine Curaray variety cocoa beans from the Amazon, boasting an enveloping and elegant personality. The bitterness of the cocoa and the bouquet of the rum are in perfect harmony with the blue-veined body of the cheese and its intense underbrush notes.

Indulge in a delightful culinary journey with a meal centered around the rich and earthy flavors of chocolate.
Pair the Chocolate Roque blue cheese with the Plum Jam with Dark Chocolate and wash it with the finest Rum you have in your pantry.

Store Cioccolata di Modica in a cool, dry place: chocolate fears heat and humidity. Ideally, it should be stored in a pantry away from light and heat sources.

Store the cheese in the fridge at a temperature of 4°C and once opened wrap in cling film. Once opened, store the preserved in the fridge, too.
