CANTINE BARBERA is located in western Sicily, in the coastal area of Menfi which is entitled of a DOC. Marilena Barbera is the heart and soul of the winery, an independent winegrower as she likes to introduce herself.  She practises organic farming, natural winemaking, utmost respect to Menfi’s terroir. No herbicides or synthetic fertilizers nor any other systemic farm chemicals that may alter the environment’s health and its rich biodiversity are allowed. At the winery, she works only with spontaneous fermentations and non-invasive winemaking practices, in order to respect the unique personality of Sicilian native grape varieties and the beautiful land to which they belong.
Cantine Barbera is a winery we love a lot.
We have selected for you three wines which fit spring and summer days and nights and can be paired with a wide selection of food.

NoTrix, Perricone Terre Siciliane IGT is part of Cantine Barbera entry level wines: 100% no frills wines, easy to drink and share with friends and a stress-free way to discover Menfi and its distinct character.
NoTrix is a vibrant and dynamic red wine witha  lively ruby color with violet shades that meets a playful nose of red berries and geranium flowers. Its solid tannins define a medium-bodied palate, where spicy notes of star anise and ginger stand out against a persistent saline background. This is the way Perricone is according to Menfi’s wine tradition.

We are very proud to collaborate with this family cheese factory located in Marsala, western Sicily. They produce the Sheep cheese with black pepper crust in your Aperitivo Siciliano box.

With great passion and dedication, Federica and her family have for three generations been carrying on a project to enhance milk by transforming it into products of excellence. Fresh, genuine sheep’s milk from local sheep farms is processed within hours of milking to maintain its natural nutritional properties.
The family’s history became intertwined with the art of cheese-making in 1980, when the Genna family became affineurs and maturers of Sicilian pecorino. Over time, the story evolves and the Genna family builds the first real cheese factory in the city of Marsala, becoming producers of fresh and mature pecorino cheese.
In 2018, the new dairy factory was born: modern, innovative, young, aiming to research and experiment with dairy products with refined, rare and often explosive flavours. They produce flavoured, blue-veined, inebriated and lactose-free cheeses, but also continue to produce the pecorino cheeses that have made the history of this company.
In May 2020, it was included in the register of Italian Excellence (Anti-Counterfeiting ID no. 13006).

Mix and match according to your taste.
Do not forget to pair our selection of fine products preferably with some fresh crusty bread, but breadsticks and saltine crackers are also fine.
Store wine properly, away from heat sources, Pour the wine at a temperature of 12 – 14°C. If the case, chill it a bit before serving.

Store the preserves in a cool, dry place at a temperature of around 10°. Once opened, cover with oil, keep in the fridge and consume within 4/5 days.
Store the cheese and the salami in the fridge.
